When to change to synthetic oil?

I know there has been plenty of discussion about synthetic oil but for those of you who are actually using it at what mileage did you change? Thanks~

I have been told 1500 to 2000. I'm going to Mobil 1 now at 2300.

I just switched to Amsoil 5W-20 at 2600 miles. Did roughly the same with my last 4 V-8 Fords without a problem.

Of course now mine will blow up.
