When can we expect the S/C prices to go down considerably?

It's been more or less 2 years now since the first superchargers for the S197 GT have come out. The lowest prices for the SN95 supercharger kits now range from $2500 (Vortech, centrifugal) to $3500 (FRPP, Roots type). Isn't it about time to start seeing some serious price cuts for the '05-'08 superchargers? I mean, 90% of the kit parts are the same (SN95 vs. S197), any additional R&D costs must have been covered by now... what else is needed?
To be honest, I don't think I'll install a S/C on my Mustang as long as it'll be my daily driver, but if I see a twin-screw for less than $3500 I'm sure I'll bite the bullet and turn the Mustang into a track-day car.

Please feel free to comment!

Prices will drop when demand goes down...... there are so many people getting blown that prices remain firm. Plus from the manufacturer's perspective, anyone can now buy a base GT for $26000, add a full blower or turbo for say $6500, and a fully streetable, great handling & looking car with ~475 horses at the wheels for about ~$33000.

I hope we start seeing some price drops as well. Dropping $5-6k on a S/C and then whatever labor and tunning time would be is steep for most people. Cut that price in half and you'd sell even more product and get a lot of us off the fence.

They'll drop, but not by much. Additionally, you won't see this happen atleast for another 18-24 months. The longer they product the 3V and don't modify the chassis, the longer it will stay at that price. FoxBody S/C are just beginning to become affordable... it's a PITA.

Give me your home address so I can send you the check for when you pick up one for me.

FYI: Cheapest I found online was $4493 for the non IC and $5775 for the IC.

MSRP in the $6-6.8K range. For non Ford employees, this is probably your best deal right now. http://www.mcnewsautomotive.com/cate...62&startpage=2

Nope, I'm the sorry one. Looks like your links from before work just fine in here. They just don't work in the subscription emails I'm getting for this thread. That's where I clicked them from before.

Thanks for the additional link. That's a pretty good price. Now if only we could get the I/C for that price.

Found the whipple IC 10psi HO version for $5395. That's better than the deal that my local dealer will give me (minus shipping costs).

That's the tuner kit. Comes without any calibration.

Also beware... the company out there that sells it for $5775 also charges nearly $145 in shipping.

Tillman Speed's everyday low price is $5799 shipped to the door no hidden fees.

Like a lot of guys out there, I too would like a blower. But by the time I save enough money, the 50th anniversary Mustang will be out. That is a car I will want for sure.

Any of you guys that are actually interested in a Whipple need to call Tousley Ford in MN. He has THE best prices on Whipples hands down! He sells them at one price, shipped. Seriously, if youre on the fence because of pricing ....call Steve, you will be blown away....literally and figuratively..LOL.
