as long as the sensors see 32psi of pressure and are in the vicinity of the rf reciever you wont have a problem. place them in the spare tire, place them in a pvc pipe, place them in one of those big *** ***** from toysrus but make sure the pressure is good and they are in the trunk if you dont want the light and warnings, otherwise jsut ugnore it. it wont cause any harm

Well to be brutally honest, most people can't and it should have been one portion of a two part solution, when the feds mandated TPMS they should have also mandated nitrogen as a factory fill (if anybody at Ford is eyeing this thread, why don't you guys be the first vehicle manufacturer to do so) the two combined would not only help in the safety department, but would also produce a net reduction in US fuel consumption.

I've got 80% Nitrogen in my tires.

Dont know why Ford went with the band style. The valve stem style has worked great in the past. And were easily transfered to other wheels.

Is there any markings on the backside of the wheel where the sensor is located on the wheel? Id hate to see tire shops busting these things removing tires left and right.

I think the sensor goes off when you lose 20-22% of the recommended pressure. @ 28 you were still in that limit.

It is breaking federal law to disable the warning light.

Where can I get the bands I need? I ordered 20" wheels and the tire shop that's putting on my tires and wheels doesn't have the band.

this is sad, my '07 has the gaydar sensor and I do not have the bands and crap in my new wheels. I have no warning light on either. Then again I park next to my factory tires/rims every day at lunch, and after work. I average 40 miles a day and haven't seen my idiot light come on yet.

I think it's actually closer to 30% pressure loss, I have had 2 tires with slow leaks that wouldn't go off until it was down just above 20psi. Finally got the leaks fixed, and haven't had a problem since.
