Wheel question
Wheel question
I recently got a nail in my Pirelli tire on the drivers side rear. The car only has about 3000 miles on it. So I took it off and got it repaired at Discount tire. My question is that when I put it back on, I tightned the lugnuts with the lugnut wrench that came with the car. I tightned them as tight as I could by hand with that wrench. Is that OK. I don't have any special tools.
I also would like to pass some info on concerning road hazard warranties on the stock Pirellis. As you know, you do not get a road hazard warranty on the Pirellis with your new car. But I found out from Discount Tire that I could buy one for $71. I did that and they repaired the nail damage free. The road hazard warranty I bought gives me free replacement if the tire is unrepairable. I thought I'd just pass that on to you guys who may not have known that. I think it is a good idea to have a road hazard warranty.

your suppose to torque them and in the cross star pattern... however i've done the "hand torque" method and never had a problem with anything warping etc...
if you purchase a torque wrench it's best to torque them ( i dont offhand know how much)...

You can go to just about any Goodyear and get the tires covered under the road hazard warranty and usually 10% the cost of the tire.
So if the stockers cost lets say 140, warranty per tire is 14.
At our store that would also entiltle you to free tire rotations every 6,000 miles.
