I use the MT slicks also like Don.

Don pretty much said it all and I will just add that I am VERY IMPRESSED with the M&H after being out at the track several times with Paul (psfracer)

They hook just as well if not better than the ET Streets and they certainly will last longer and give you better street use.

The racemaster is the street D/R I recommend now to anyone after seeing them perform versus the ET Streets. I still like the MT ET Streets, but they are not the best choice for a street tire whereas the M&H appear to give you the best of both worlds.

If you're not ready for true slick (most of you aren't) than the M&H is the best choice IMO.

Yep, in my opinion the M&H is the best. Last Thursday I pulled a 1.489 60 foot time from the same M&H's that I drove on to the track.

Street: 28 psi--at this air pressure they handle ok, no rear end sway
Track: 17psi---burn out in 3rd gear at 5500 rpm for 5 seconds---gets them hot and they hook.

Mileage will not be as good as the Nittos---but better then the M/T's

As far as the 28 tall vs 4.10 thing: the more sidewall you have, the more the sidewall is able to flex, allowing you to hook better. Then I went with 4.10s to maintain the gear ratio I wanted. 4.10's with a 28 tall tire is about a 3.90 ratio. Lastly--I have coilovers in the rear, and right now I have the rear lowered about 1.5 inches---with the 28 tall tire and it lowered, it fills the fenderwell very nicely. No fenderwell gap.

I'm ordering my M&H next week...

So now that I've decided on the slicks, How is my differential and axles going to hold up....and for that matter clutch? For the little looking I've done it appears that the clutches in the differential will last a little while and I havent heard of any Axle problems but if anyone has any info please share it. Also has anyone installed the kevlar clutches that the GT500 Differentail uses?

I'm also going to be installing 4.30 gears as this is not a DD but a weekend toy.

With 4.30's and the M&H - I really don't expect your stock diff to last long. You can go with the tru trak and that has worked great for many but I personally broke it and then went with a bullet-proof locker and never looked back.

My adivce would be to look at the tru trak or locker and also a girdle such as the LPW low profile or equivalent. When you're ready, also look into some moser axels and get them tube welded. You'll be set....

I run the BFG drag radials here. At the track mostly but they aren't as soft as the MT. So I would assume that they would hold up a bit longer for street duty. They do work great at the track. I saw a solid 4 10th reduction in ET 1/4 mile just by running on these tires.

Now see that's just the opposite of my experience with BFG drag radials.... I can't get them to hook at all with the power I have (in signature) and 4.10s.

I was dead set on ET Streets (non-radial, track only) but now may try the M&H.

One more thing- I'm guessing the 325s are too big for a stock 17x8 bullitt wheel- you guys are running 17x9s. How big can I go with the 8" wheel?

M&H also has a 275/50-17, which is still 28" dia, but has a tread width of 8.8". That would fit well on a 17x8. The 325/45-17 has a tread width of 10.3". It might work on an 8" wheel, but off-hand I don't recall anyone trying it.

Why that one?
What are you getting for a 60' time with them?

Anything else, are you using a different wheel if so which one? What else?
I think Im the only one anywhere running Goodyears new(er) drag radial
Goodyear Eagle SS
Why: I work for Goodyear, I run Goodyears in the summer, winter, and at the track,
1.8-1.9 60's. only have run them about 12 runs, still working on the launch.
275/40/17 on spare set of stock wheels.

Thanks Don that's what I thought. My 275/40/17s are too short for me anyway I think at the track; the 275/50s would help me on the top end.

My best 60' was in the 1.8 range with these. But I can imagine with a SC I would be breaking them loose. N/A they work ok, Much much better than the stock rubber for sure. I have only launched at around 4000 revs with these. I also have steeda springs and LCA's but may need relocation brackets to get it to hook a little better since the spring swap.

Alot to soak in but no matter which way you go some sort of drag radial or full on slick will make a dramatic change in track times for sure.

Just remembered my drag bullitts are not factory Ford wheels, they are replicas and are 9" in width! Guess I can try those 325 M&Hs after all!

Can anyone recommend a good lightweight 17x9" wheel to go with those 325/45-17s?
