What is need for 4.10 Gears Install
What parts (other then the gears) are needed to complete a gear swap from 3.55 to 4.10?
I am looking at purchasing the gears and whatever else is needed, and then take it to a shop for install.
I just want to put in FRPP parts as I here they are the best.
Thanks,
Sean

no no no
you need the FULL ring and pinion install kit from FRPP, I went cheap when I had mine done and ordered the $50 kit. Well the guy broke the pinion bearing and I didn't give him one, and went ahead and got another full kit from the dealership (an extra $120). Took a day for the parts to show up so he had to put my car back together and roll it out of the bay. Then he rolled it back in when the parts showed up. the install labor went from 200 to 400 because I cheaped out on a $20 part. Do yourself a favor and buy the full install kit
Also if you plan on drag racing the car, NOW is the time to upgrade your differential. Get the 31 spline tru-trac. You'll wish you did when you have to do it again later.

If your not having any issues now I wouldn't replace any parts other than the gears them selves since everything in the rear end now is brand new. Now if you want to beef up the rear end then that's a different story, as mentioned above now would be the time while your in there.

Best thing to do is get your part number and do a search, but I looked for a while and ended up getting them at my local dealer because every price I found on line for the FRPP set was about the same after shipping as my local dealer. You can probably find a $20-30 difference but I was happy to have them in my hand today. As for the rayal purple you can search as well or go here:
http://www.royalpurple.com/rp-dealer-locator.html
to find a local dealer/store. Pepboys and Napa both carry as well.

You can also order the Royal Purple from Brenspeed.....
And, this would be a very opportune time to upgrade to the FRPP or equivilent Girdle. Nice to have one with a drain plug, instead of popping the whole cover off....Best looking mod nobody ever sees.....

These gears actually are more quiet than my factory ones were. Bonus

Sean,
Should you take Dustin's advise and add a True Trac, I found that the Ford Synthetic Fluid (without friction modifier) keeps the locker the most quiet when under compression braking. Friction modifier won't hurt it, but it does make the True Trac shuffle a bit more noticable.
