Here are my GTAs on a Torch Red vert. I painted mine as well with flat black high temp paint.

jmanpatsfan beat me to it. That is essentially what mine looked like after painting. The nice thing is that you don't notice the muffler body under the car when painted black, just the tips stand out.

Nice pics! I love the tip design, it's much cleaner than the stock tips which can cut your hands or your chenille wash mits. I thought about getting GTAs, but I sat in someone's GT that had them and they were still too loud for me, albeit much quieter than the Pypes Violators.

So does painting them black make that much of a difference? Its hard to see in th epics and maybe that,s a good thing?

It does make a difference. Look at the original poster's pics and then the ones that are painted. You don't notice the muffler and that is the point of doing it.

That looks real good dmhines, I dont know why people are placing the tips so low. Maybe cause of the bumper...... The more tucked up they are, the better they look

Dude i didnt even know that a 4.0...... Nice looking car

All these great pics of GTAs on such beautiful rides may motivate me to finally get around to installing a set I got from Ninosport last January. Maybe this weekend!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

Life will be a lot simpler if you get yourself a 15mm ratcheting box end wrench with a flexible box end. It saved me a lot of aggravation. I also discovered that starting the bolt on the front hangers and then sliding the front tab into the hanger while sliding the muffler onto the tailpipe went a lot easier than trying to start all of the hanger bolts with the muffler installed.

Aside from the great looking pipes, I think the S197 rear is far cleaner looking than the upcoming 2010 which looks fat bloated and too narrow and high. Not to mention the unattractive black lip.
