What exhaust system bolts up perfectly??
What exhaust system bolts up perfectly??
Hi guys,
I've recently bought a Maganflow system but have decided to go a different route. I want to get something else but enjoy doing work like this myself. One thing I didn't like about the Magnaflow was that it was extremely crooked. I just couldn't get it aligned proberly while working on my back with a floor jack. I think I would have either had to heat it up and bend the hangers, or adjust the mid pipes which is too hard with my current tool set. So which axleback kit out there bolts up the easiest with out much adjustment... or with minimal adjustment...
Thanks!

You shouldn't have to be bending any hangers.

I own a muffler, brake shop, and let me tell you i have installed most brands. The majority of the time they
need tweaking. Sometimes they just fit like S _ _ _ ! Then you get one and you go, man that fit's nice.

My Boomtubes fit like crap first try. Ended up going to the muffler shop and they told me the same thing that the previous poster mentioned; most of these systems need tweaking. My Mac's had similar issues. I think it just comes with the territory.
Even the most expensive systems need to have everything loosened up to the mid pipe like 70mach1owner stated. Magnaflow is among the very best fitting exhaust available. They make the first prototype system by hand with small sections of pipe with a group of technicians, then a computer aided system scans the welded together pipes and a computer aided mandrel pipe bender does all the work according to the scan. It's pretty much a fool proof method and every system that's made goes through the identical computer aided bending process.
You need to loosen the mid pipes and axleback portion of the exhaust and have a buddy at the rear of the car holding the tip in place, centered in the bumper's cut out as you go under the car and tweak the pipes and tighten the clamps. It is common to have to bend a hanger a little to because nothing made by men is ever perfect unless you are lucky. Magnaflow is definitely one of the better fitting systems.
