Weight Reduction Tips?
Any good weight reduction tips for someone who wants to keep the stock exterior / interior look? What can we remove or change that would lower the weight but keep a stock appearance?
Here are some of the obvious things:
- Spare tire, jack, etc.
- 1 piece driveshaft / lightweight flywheel (what is it, 1# roatating mass = 10#s dead weight?)
- Aftermarket K-member
- Lightweight wheels/tires/brake rotors if you're going that far

Also, tubular radiator support/swaybar delete and A-arms.
FWIW, they had a scale set up at the track on Saturday night, so I got a chance to get my car weighed in track trim. It weighed in at 3547 pounds w/o driver. As I figured, it's just under 3800lbs with my 238lb butt in it.
It also seems to be a little front heavy... 54.9% front, 45.1% rear. The breakdown per wheel was:
LF=983, RF = 963
LR = 804, RR = 797

Hey Don aren't you using a cast iron block in there? That would partly explain why your weight distribution is worse than stock. The super charger would make up the rest as it's all weight up front. Still not too bad though.

I already do that... that's the only way my legs fit in there. haha
