I live in an area with alot of snow- and I plan on trying my hardest to keep out of it, but what is the ratio of weight on the front of the car compared to that of the rear? What would be a better way of putting more weight on the rear tires at high speed: (dare i say) a bigger spoiler or a ducktail?

Ford has listed several different #'s on this. I've seen the following:

F / R
52 / 48%
53 / 47%
54 / 46%

In any case the F/R weight balance is a LOT better that the 99-04 Stangs which were about 57 / 43%.

Also, the 2005 Stangs come with all season tires instead of the summer tires the '99-04's came with. A long time ago there was a thread on this with photos of an '05 test mule blasting through the snow. There were insider comments the '05 was incredibly better than the old Stang in the snow.

I'd say get a set of good snow tires, put a couple 50 lb bags of sand in your trunk and you'll have no problem (other than watching your new Mustang start to rust away from the salt.)

Thanks, all of those ratios are VERY managable and the year long tires should definately help until I upgrade them. I'm hoping not to get caught in snow, but some crazy weather here. Ive seen it snow in early spring...Everyone had their convertibles and sportscars out...not a pretty sight at all..
