Vortech Out Granatelli Turbo In!
I decided to sell my vortech v2 because I was tired of having to rev the car to the moon to feel the power. add in a little heat soak and the Vortech was just plain lazy on a warm day. The Vortech was nice but this Granatelli turbo with a turbonetics t-76 is a beast! it starts spooling around 2500 rpm and is at full 8 psi of boost by 3900 rpm and pulls to redline. 50 mph roll on's are crazy! The turbo is 10x more fun for every day street driving and you dont have to rev the crap out of the car to feel the power, not to mention the look on peoples faces when they hear that turbo spooling when I drive by.

Willcat, did you do the labor yourself? Is your car an automatic or stick.
I have been toying with a supercharger but worry about the low end lag.
What about the overheating issues of turbos?
How many miles have you driven it and has the tune held?

The car is a 5 speed. A local shop called R.M.C.R did all the work and tuning. it was a little tricky to tune at first since it uses a blow thru style MAF sensor sorta like the procharger setup but once the MAF transfer tables were adjusted correctly everything is good now.so far no issues with heat and I've been driving it in 95 degree heat in stop and go traffic with a/c for a month now with no heat issues. The twin spearco air to air intercooler works fantastic!
