My 06 GT is still on the way but i've already been thinking mods. I'm almost certain I want to work on handling perfromance first. I dont know much about suspension systems and all the components, yet. If anyone has any advise on upgrade the suspension, sites that detail pro's and cons of coil-overs versus spring and shocks, and other parts of inceasing handling that would really help me out. also if anyone one just has suggestions about what suspenion parts they perfer ect feel free to let me know about that too. I want to know as much as i can so that when i have the money to upgrade I'll know exactly what i want.

Thanks in advance
kevin

Most people start off with some lower control arms to help keep the live axle under control. Steeda and eibach have good lowering springs. Just remember that if you lower your car its a very good idea to get an adjustable panhard bar to keep the axle centered. Also, when you lower the car and get it aligned, you may need to get camber plates to get it back to spec. Make sure you have extra cash incase you need these.

My next step is to get handling upgrades and I am trying to learn as much as I can just like you.

I'm in the same boat. Right now I'm leaning towards the Steeda setup. Recent MM&FF drove the SteedaQ on their roadcourse. Its lap time was within about a tenth of a second compared to the Saleen (that had the full Saleen suspension...oh, AND A FREAKIN' BLOWER). Yeah, Steeda is a big advertiser, so there may be some bias, but Saleen advertises, too. I'm really not a big Steeda fan (more due to their logos plastered on every part they sell), but for suspensions, they seem pretty good.

That said, I'm waiting on MaximumMotorsports to put out their packages for the '05+ mustangs before I drop any coin.

I am waiting until spring and hopefully more options come out. Right now I would do:
-Eibach Pro-kit Springs
-Eibach Sways
-Tokico D-Specs
-BMR LCA's, Panhard Bar, and Panhard Brace
-Cheapest Strut tower bar I can find on ebay.

That would make a compitent open track car as well as a nice daily driver.

i installed the frpp strut tower brace a couple weeks ago... took 5 minutes and it did a good job of making the car feel more solid... i haven't quite figured out what i want to do with the rest of my suspension either, but this was a nice start... i'm hoping to see more options as well....

That must have been expensive to have them install all that. Ouch.

I'm lucky enough to live in Indy where Kenny Brown is located.

Contact Rich Cottrell, rcottrell@kennybrownperformance.com
317-547-5320
He can email the prices/packages they have for the SN197 all depending on what you want, and in what phases - you don't have to have everything at once - but maybe you do?

It was a package deal so the price for what you may need would be different.

I also have C&L CAI, Diablo Tune, Dyno checked, hi-temp brake fluid, hood struts, Hurst shifter, Flowmasters, Harnesses.

I put Hawk brake pads, PowerSlot rotors and Steel brake lines on as the OEM stuff will not last two track events. (buybrakes.com)

Thanks, I shot him an email. Which Hawk Pads do you run? Do you notice a difference with the SS brake lines? I know on the track they are necessary, but I am wondering if you notice them on street driving. I have been itching to take my car out to Autobahn Country club, but the car is stock and won't be any fun/
