Twin-screw delays?
I'm trying to wait patiently for the twin-screw market to produce some results. Whipple has put off production since the first week of February and are still saying " a couple more months."
Kenny Bell just doesn't answer my e-mails.
Has anyone had any better success finding out when these things will actually hit production? :bang:

I talked to them a couple weeks ago and they said August :bang:
Whipple is still 4-6 weeks away (have been hearing this for awhile now)
I am seriously going to consider the Saleen at this point. It seems to be producing great results.

5.0 Mustang magazine just did an article on the KB.
I'm taking a wait and see attitude with the superchargers. Having the auto transmission I'd like to see what the tranny can take before I slap another 200 hp at it.

I think that the Saleen unit is the only twin screw unit on the market right now. It adds about 100hp and is probably the safest one for the stock short block and auto transmission.
I am leaning hard tword one of these units...
P.S. This is the same SC that they put on their own super charged 05 model with the stock internals. Keep in mind that they have to provide a full factory warrantee on the cars, so it it probably on the saffe side....

The Saleen is the Whipple screwcharger. Except it's packaged better and costs less. $4800+change vs $5500+?.
And it's avaliable now. From tuners who can supply you a Predator or SCT tune.

Seems to me the KB and Whipple systems aren't worth waiting for.

And...Whipple reports MUCH better results than the Saleen model. As For KB I have personnally had "less than stellar" results from their customer service and am not likely to buy their product even if it wins on the dyno.
Don't get me wrong...the Saleen is a nice package and very clean install (almost a sleeper) If the other two don't get in the game soon the decision will be easy.

 I've heard that stated a few times before, but why would Whipple sell the unit to Saleen and allow them to undercut their own sales, not to mention, still refusing to put out their own product? That just doesn't make sense.

The Whipple and the Saleen unit are not the same super charger. They do share some common internal parts. I think the impellers are made by the same company.
The Saleen SC does have significantly more potential. Keep in mind that the same SC is used on their 500hp Extream or E model. This engine has forged internals, modified heads and is run at a higher boost. ( I think it is also stroked )
That is why I think the pulley was chosed on the kit to only produce about 5psi and about 400hp. I think this is all the stock block can safely take with a reasonable margin of safety.
I'll probably get the Saleen SC and live with 5psi 400hp until the engine need a rebuild and then change the pulley and add forged internals, injectors, etc... ( probably have to upgrade the trans at that point as well )
P.S. I completely agree with you guys about the need for a dyno tune after installing any SC kit. I will probably get the saleen tune that comes with the kit and then carry the car imediatly to a local tuner ( modular power house ) to get the tune exactly right...
I do however, think Saleen knows how to put out a good tune with their kit, but the dyno is cheap insurance....

Yes that's the correct way to say it. They use the identical rotors inside. 2300cc Lysholm twin screws. And case design can make a difference in performance. Just look at how many '03/'04 Cobra guys are running ported Eatons making huge power. Now who's got the better case?
Here's a good advert from Saleen.
http://www.saleen.com/supercharger.htm
As far as setup goes, I'd say the Saleen wins. It's got long straight runners directly into the heads. And the intake piping is factory Ford.
Finally, the price difference. $5500 vs $4900

I'm very interested in adding a super charger to my GT. What kind of effect does it have on gas mileage?
