Tuning on a dyno - Questions

Hi there

I had my car ran on the dyno and the results were good but there was a couple of flat spots in the power curve.

So if I get the car tuned on the dyno so there is no flatspots and maybe more power this would all be great.

But my question is can this be backed up to the SCT device? I ask because say if I add a new mod and get an email tune for it then my custom tune will be gone.

What I am asking if you get custom tuned on a dyno how does it all work? Does the custom tune die off after time when the cars ECU relearns and changes things. So can the custom tune be put in file and then re-flashed at a later time?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how does it all work?

if you'll send me your dynosheets then I can make adjustments to the tunes if it is something that is off. I would need the read outs in Hp over torque andair fuel with all of this read over RPM not MPH/KPH.

The tune is just like loading a new tune with adjustments.

Thanks, Doug.

Hi Doug

Thanks m8!

I have emailed you the PDF and link to my graph from my RR results. The dyno's in the UK are slightly different than those in the US as they measure engine power but hopefully the you should be able to look at the power and torque curves and provide feedback if they are OK or if you can improve them or not.

Hi there

Here is link to my results:-
http://kore.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/RRMeet4/Gibbo.pdf

Please ignore the at the wheel figures as their dyno is not a dynojet and as such those figures are incorrect. As all cars that ran were loosing between 40-50% via the transmission which is obviously very high.
However everybody seemed to be getting very accurate BHP figures for their engine/crank power.

I believe transmission losses on our RWD manuals is approx 12-15%

I was pleased with my result of 360.3BHP and considering it was a hot day too (32c intake temp). If you factor in tranmission losses my RWHP is approx 305-320 RWHP based on whatever the transmission loss is.

For those who do not know my mods are Tunable Induction CAI, Dougs Race Tune for Octane 93, Saleen Underdrive pulleys, Steeda charge Motion Plates and Saleen Cat back exhaust with valves.
