Say I purchase a sct tuner from doug at bama chips or one of the other good tuners I have read about on TMS, can you use the same tuner to upload a tune into my mustang and then load a new specific tune into an explorer or new fusion? do you have to buy a whole new tuner device?

I am looking into getting another ford soon, likey a new fusion, maybe an explorer or the new edge and was wondering.

Once you load a tune to a car's computer, that tuner is locked to that vehicle's VIN. You can only unlock it to use on another like vehicle by reflashing back to stock. I can use my Predator to read codes on another S197, but no tuning allowed - it's read only mode.

thanks, I was hoping that you could get a tune for one of the other ford cars download it to the tuner and then upload it to the other car.
