tuner outside of the states
OK guys, I have a 2005 GT automatic and thinking of getting a sct tuner.First of all, I don't have any experience with tuners and another problem is that there is no sct tuning place in Holland (that I know of). I can however get my car dyno'd. So what i'm thinking of doing is to send my dyno info to either Bama or Alt. auto. and have them make a (custom?) tune for me and send me the sct tuner with a CAI. (not sure which CAI yet).
A couple of questions:
1. Is this the best way to go about it?
2. Bama or Alt. auto?
3. Can I screw up my engine? - don't want any problems with warning lights, power loss or other issues because it's hard to find a dealer over here that can fix those kinds of things and I don't have a warranty.
4. I heard that a CAI produces a lot more noise. Is the extra noise coming from the CAI or the exhausts?
5. Which CAI produces the least noise?
6. I'm getting the Magnaflow exhaust in a couple of weeks, of course it's better to wait with the dyno until those are installed, right?
7. Finally, is it worth all the trouble or should I just forget about it?
Thanks for your time.

My recommendation, get the SCT2 tuning device, 3 custom tunes to match fuel octane levels in your area and the C&L CAI from Doug at BamaChips.
You can't go wrong with Doug's tunes and you won't regret it

There are some folks here in Germany that have gotten the Predator or XCal2 and done it themselves. If something goes wrong, dealing with German dealerships that are licensed to work on American cars is always a challenge. Personally, I'll be overseas for a few more years and hate for something to go wrong with a Tune and not have a reliable tune shop to go to. I know the Tuners through these forums are good and will work with you over the phone and email, but it's a bit challenging being thousands of miles away from a mechanic you trust to work on a muscle car. I'm putting in an S&B CAI and TBS and call it a day until I get back to the States. MHO....
