So when I bought my mustang it had a sticker under the hood that said "superchip equipped" or something like that. And then I noticed yesterday that my speedo is exactly 5 mph fast. So I'm wondering if my car is tuned? I've driven several GTs and it doesnt feel any different, but I want to make sure I'm not using the wrong octane gas or something if it's tuned. Would unhooking the battery for awhile reset it to factory defaults if it is tuned?

Nope...

Where is your rev limiter at? Is it higher than stock?

I have to be honest, I haven't had it all the way up to the limiter yet. I guess I was always taught to be nice to my cars, so about 5500 RPM is the most I've revved it to.

However, from what I know of it's history, I know it was a lease return to Ford, and then Ford Motor Credit sold it at auction to the dealership I work at, where I bought it. So, I'm tempted to think that the previous owner would have removed the tune before returning the lease...

I rev to 7500 and I'm still nice to my car

LOL to be fair.. bone doesnt know the difference between good touch, bad touch.

since you work at a dealer can you have a tech check it out? should only take 5 mins for him to say if it has a chip or tune on it.

EDIT: I think I figured it out today on my way back to work from school. I used the GPS based speedometer on my iphone to set the cruise at exactly 65MPH, and paid attention to my RPMs and I'm right around 2100 RPM at 65. That's with manual transmission and stock 17 inch wheels with OEM pirelli tires.

Based on all that, I think my car has 3.73's in it! That's sort of exciting, because it was a mod I planned to do anyway.
