Hello everyone!
Do you guys (with Auto transmission), also sometimes experience difficulties putting the shifter into "P", when parking? It wont lock in position and the release button on the left of the shifter wont pop out. I had that happen twice last night, and it fixes pretty easily by just backing up a bit and then trying again.

Anyone know what causes this?
Anything to worry about?

That happened to me a couple of times on an incline.

 

Does it have to do with how the transmission aligns itself once coming to a stop, or something like that....?

 

never I just notice a click after I put it in park and it moves up a tiny bit...weird

Were you on an inclined surface at the time?

 

Incline once....at the gas station the next time.
Maybe its nothing to worry about?

 

Happened to me right after I bought the car. It slowly got worse over the next 3 weeks until one day, I couldn't put it into park and had to drive straight to the dealership. Since you can't take the key out unless it is in park, it was in the dealer bay for 5 days until they could get in a whole new center counsel shifter assembly.

Haven't had a problem since.

Take it in ASAP.
