Traction :/

So I'm having problem putting down power to the ground. To start I have an 05 gt with an intake/tune from bama, off road h, and custom slp mid muffler. Not bad but I should be able to grab traction.

I recently installed the upr race lower control arms, and a set of relocation brackets. I go out to my local strip on Friday nights and I still spin through 1st and some of 2nd with the stock 3.31s!!

I'm running the stock 235/55/17 tire which I believe is the problem. What tire could I get to correct this that would fit on the stock 17x8 wheel? Is there any other suspension part that would help without buying a whole new set of tires?

Use the stock tires for burnouts and go buy Nitto Invo 255/40,had the same issue but these tires work great and seem to work decently well on wet also

Control arms are designed to eliminate wheel hop, not wheel spin.
You can reduce wheel spin during the launch by slipping the clutch.

Well the clutch deal won't work because I don't have one. :/ I have an auto and with the traction control off it spins bad and with it on all of my power is cut. Lose-lose situation. I am probably going to just have to bite the bullet and buy new tires for the rear. Or maybe a used set of rims and tires for the track.

I'm getting ready to install 4.10s, Detroit rockers, jba lts, and a 3000 stall converter this summer, so traction is going to be more than needed.

Get atleast. 245 width with nitto nt05's. Heat em up good and I promise you won't have traction problems. I only have wheel hop issues now.

I have a set of BFG drag radials, 275/40-17, old style tread, on stock rims. I can launch between 4500-6000 with minimal spin, on moderately warm tires. I run the stock 3:55 gears with a 5 speed, but I don't have a line lock and so don't do proper burnouts, just light 'em up outside the box as I come up to the line. I would suspect most of your wheelspin can be contained with a good set of drag radials.....

In case you're wondering what 275/40 looks like on a stock rim......
