Which track tires?

Which track tires?
Just supercharged my car and have terrible traction on the drag strip with my huge wheels. They dont make a drag radial tire for my wheels, so I was going to use my stock wheels when I go to the track and put some good rear tires on them. Is the largest tire I can fit on the stock 17'' wheels a 275? And what tire do you recomend for the track?

You can run the 275/40-17 M/T drag radials (P/N #3743R) or the 26x11.50-17 M/T ET streets (P/N #3743) on 17x8 wheels. Lots of guys doing it.

I mean, I know you've raced a lot more than me it just seems like a huge diff between their recommended 11" and the stock 8".
Thanx for your input Don.

Don't take those measurements literally. You need to check the actual specs. The 26x11.50 is actually 26.5" dia, and has a tread width of 9.5". I've never run those tires (P/N 3743) personally, but like I said other guys have. I ran the 275/40-17 DRs on 17x9 wheels (before I switched to 15s).
