Torque Wrench Recommendations

Hello everyone. Thor needs a new torque wrench, any suggestions? Except Mac or Snap On, can't afford those.

Cheers,
Jon

not trying to be smart but mess up one head bolt with a cheap torque wrench and see why its better to get a good one to start with.

My quote from that thread:

And if that's not in your budget, the Craftsman 'Beam Type' wrench is my choice. The click type wrenches are fancy, but I feel much more comfortable with the beam type because you can see the torque being applied and don't have to worry about missing the 'click'. Trust me, it's a horrible feeling when you hear the 'click' and it's not the wrench, but a busted bolt in your (motor's) head.

Check the Torgue wrenches out at Sears, I bought a click type 1/2" 150 ft lb on sale Friday for $55.00.Regular price was $79.00.Good deal.

Have had execellent service with Craftsman clicker and beam type. The latter require no calibration (unless you bend the pointer) and is a good back up.

I have the craftsman digi torque wrenches in 3/8 and 1/2, they are awesome. After you get yours go on sears.com and buy the plastic case for it.
