One of the reasons I bought my Fuddle converter was the clutch area that is twice as much as the factory converter so it can hold full lock-up at WOT - even behind my blower. I don't know enough about PI converters to know how much clutch surface area they have. Worth looking into, though.
That would be my luck. I'm not sure how to go about it. Maybe data log another run and see if CR can see something... Soooo u dont think its a cooling issue?

My other one did it also the first time it was used, then never again after that.

As I posted earlier the PI single disc lock up converter is rated to 600 hp according to PI. I am running a set of Aeroforce gauges and one of the parameters I monitor constantly is trans fluid temp. Mine never gets over 150-160 degrees. Glad the shifting issue is fixed but I don't know about the flashing OD light and code. But you also said that your OD light flash after the 2nd install also, correct?

Might look into the aeroforce interceptor gauge that will mount in the vent on the dash. Says it plugs right into obdi. Where exactly is that tho?

I suppose it could be a cooling issue, but only because you're generating too much heat in the first place. I'm pushing more power than you, and I drive the snot out of my car daily, and my trans temp never gets high. Fluid changes reveal bright pink trans fluid with no signs of heat. You shouldn't need more cooling at your power & stall level, so I still believe you're generating too much heat somewhere.

I would have your tuner set the lock-up to occur quickly after upshifts for WOT (maybe 1/2 second or 1 second at the most), and set lock-up for partial throttle upshifts sooner than stock, as well. Have this done for 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears (the factory doesn't look up 3rd, but your tuner can do it). That will reduce the amount of time your converter is loose and generating unnecessary heat.

It is the same plug your tuner plugs into. I am running my Aeroforce gauges in a twin SOS pillar pod. Very easy install. And while I have all the respect in the world for Brian's opinion I just don't agree you have a heat issue. I have to believe it is a tune, electrical or sensor problem. I believe if you put Brenspeed's tune in your car you will have the exact same setup as me. I know Chris tweeked your trans tune a bunch. I'm wondering if it was too much.

So is it acting up the same today? Did you clear the code yesterday and has it came back?

Was gonna try brenspeed tune for sheeets and giggles but realized the wheel/tire in their tune is still for my old setup. They apparently dont have the data required to make those changes so I need to find out the revs per mile and adjust it myself. Do i need to just look up info for the tire size?

Edit*** found it. 756 revs per mile

Kinda thought that was the same port but wasnt sure. You just unplug yours for tune adjustments? Any pics of your setup?

Only a short vid is good enough for you my friend. They get their power and everything thru the OBDII plug. Yes you just unplug them if you want to use your tuner.

Very cool. I like em. How much/where at for that setup? I do like the stealth factor of putting one in the vent but im not sure if its a direct fit or modification is required.

Whats the install like with yours?

From what I read the vent install is not a direct fit thingy. My install took less than 1 hour more like 45 minutes and is very easy. You get the SOS 2 gauge pillar covering and the Aeroforce gauges. As I remember is was a total of $500 bucks. Like $400 for the gauges and $100 for the SOS piece. This was a couple of years ago. Just pull off you existing A pillar cover and pop in the SOS unit with gauges. Run the wire thru a plenty big existing hole in the dash to the plug. Plug and play after that.

If you order you have your choice of gauge background/face color and light color. Plus I think bezel type. I did chrome ring, black face with blue illumination.

I am really feeling like you owe my a beer now!!!!!!!

You know how much pain and suffering you have caused me over the years?? lol...I think ive lost years off my life from having to diagnose every mod I've added.

But okay, I'll still buy you a beer or three.

So I adjusted the tire size for the Brenspeed tune and took it out for a run. Both tunes come up with the tranny over temp O/D light issue. It does go off after a few minutes though. Never a check engine light and the car doesn't seem to run any different. Flashing light also goes off (resets) if I power cycle car.

I can tell you this tho. There is a big difference between the two tunes. One feels like lightening, the other feels heavy..so to speak..

Ha Ha...I would be interested in trying the "other guys" tune just to see what your talking about. I thought mine was pretty awesome and almost over the top. My wife hates driving the car because it's so edgey feeling, but maybe there is the next level. Not sure.
