Top Gear's review of the Shelby GT 500
As far as the GT500 weight? All Ford did was listen to all the Mustang GT owners who looked at the next biggest V8
A buddy of mine with a near identicaly optioned GT (I think the alarm was the only difference) weighed his at the track and came in at 3460 I believe.
So even giving the gt500 the benifit of the factory claim (which is likely 100lbs light or so IMO). We are talking a 500lb difference. My would be that it is actually a bit more.
Top Gear's rwhp/crank hp mix up is extremely frustrating. There are plenty of other ways to poke at the GT 500. Horsepower is not one of them. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the five hundred and don't give a dang if it cant turn well. On the good old American highway, nothing's touching that thing. ('cept for our friends in law enforcement...

I like the GT500 alot but that review is accurate IMO. The GT500 isnt a very balanced car which plays havoc with the handling but the car wasnt designed to be a corner carver so I dont have a problem with it.
