Tire questions, 17" vs 18", etc

Tire question
My Mustang is not a DD and will never see rain or snow. I do plan on taking it to the road course once or twice a year. With that in mind, what tires should I run on 18x9.5" wheels? I want good handling, a decent ride, and not too noisy. Tread life is not a big concern.

The TPMS really isn't that big of a deal, you would just need new bands, no recalibration would be necessary.
The lower the tire profile, the quicker response in handling. Plus it will look much better, The stock 17's are just to narrow for these cars imo.
Goodyear has a new tire that just came out with Carbon Fiber in the sidewalls for excellent handling. F1 all season.
Or I have the F1 GS D3's that are quiet, excellent on the road course too. And wear pretty good. Not a cold weather tire tho. And in the rain you would swear you're on dry pavement.
