Tire monitoring sensors and new wheels?

I want to get some aftermarket wheels, but was wondering about the tire monitoring sensors. Is there anyway to mount the sensors back onto the new wheels? Is there anything special that the new wheels have to have in order for this system to work?

You will need a steel strap to put them onto the new wheels, if the stock strap won't fit. When I got my car, since the dealership screwed up the order and didn't order fanblades for me, I made them take the stock 17" wheels off and put the fanblades from an '06 on the lot on it. They had to get the 18" straps from the parts warehouse, but that's all they needed to move the sensors from the 17" wheels to the 18".
