Tips on brakes

Hey guys,

I have a 2008 Bullitt and it's time for new pads. I bought the car used and it has slotted rotors but I don't know the brand. Ford has a service deal for $180 per axle with pads, machine the rotors and labor is included. My car is my daily driver, I don't race, so I'm trying to figure out if the oem pads are good enough or if I should buy aftermarket. If aftermarket, are there pads that are recommended or ones to stay away from? Thanks

I didn't think you could turn slotted roters? You can usually feel if your rotors need to be turned. I would look for some hawk pads. I used them on my 06 and am very happy with the stoppage they give me over oem pads.

Thanks Glenn. I'll do so more searching on that. I've never had slotted rotors before so I'll search that up.

Consider your Hawk pads wisely. The HPS+ is a great pad, works well over a wide range of temps but squeals like hell and wears the rotor at a faster pace.
