Timken vs Koyo

Could there be a reason Ford uses Koyo bearings for the 8.8 diff's pinion but Timken brand for the 8.8's side carrier bearings? Or is it just a supply and demand issue.

It's just a guess, but I would have to say money. Either one brand or another wasn't able to meet the specs required, or both brands met the specs and Koyo was cheaper for the pinion bearings but Timken was cheaper for the carrier bearings.

I was kind of thinking the less expensive route myself. Thanks
