Exclamation Time for New Brakes! Suggestions, Please!

I have an '05 Mustang GT. It's time for new brakes and I would like to upgrade my rotors/pads from the stock. I was looking at Steeda's DBAs for rotors (they fit 17" wheels, correct?) and Hawk Plus for pads. I checked Ford Racing but the only brake upgrades they have are for 18" wheels. Any feedback or other suggestions?

Oh, and can I stick with the stock calipers/lines with the DBA rotors?

Thanks for the input.

Personally I blew out my front rotors. I actually just finished swapping the front rotors with oem replacements from www.newtakeoff.com they were like $40 for a pair and the dealership wanted $180 a piece. No better deal out there. I also installed hawk hp pads, earls ss lines (the steeda ones are apparently better quality), and I flushed the system with some wilwood high performance brake fluid. I highly suggest these mods unless you are planning on buying an entire big brake kit. It won't change any clearances from stock and the pads (if broken in properly), fluid, and ss lines made a big difference in stopping ability over stock.

For example I have a "tradition" if you will of hitting 200kmph before having to stop for the parking lot everytime I go to work. The fastest in almost a year of doing this that I have been able to reach was 205kmph. Anything over that and I wasn't able to stop in time for the parking lot. After the brake changes I was able to hit 215kmph and stop easily in time. 220 would be easily doable. The brakes feel the same with light pressure applied around town etc but when you get on them you can feel they grab a lot harder.

I just went thru the same thing. Wanted to keep my options open for stock rims (snow tires) in addition to new, better brakes. I went with DBA 4000XS from MossMustang. Same size as stock.

So the DBAs offered from Steeda will fit my stock rims? Also, what's the difference between DBA's "two-piece" Performance Rotors and just the Performance Rotor?

Those Hawk Plus brake pads - I hear they're awesome - reviews, anyone?

05 Mustang GT would use: DBA 42113XS (front) and DBA 42114XS (rear). They are the same size as stock. Don't know the difference between 1 or 2 piece.

Do yourself a favor and atleast talk to Richard at Rotorpros. Send him a PM here through this site, there is a deal for forum members. I got drilled/slotted rotors with Centric pads for a smokin' deal:
