Since the filters are re-usable, getting a new one is kind of a waste of money. Just don't overoil the filter and your MAF should be fine. K&N lists that the panel filters use only 1-2 oz or 38-39mL of oil!

Guess what guy I know this but I also know the cost of a Map. You only have to over do it once. I change the filter.

I have not done mine so I do not have a clue but I did over oil a K&N once and the car smoked for a week. It takes such a small amount to screw up the MAP I am just not going to risk it.

The nicest way of doing this is to use K&N's cleaning kit. I would rather give JLT the business because K&N is blah, but K&N recharger kits are a standard at any local auto store.

Follow the directions listed here:
http://knfilters.com/clningins.htm

And there's no way you can go wrong. For OPTIMUM performance from your intake, I found that cleaning it every other oil change is a must.

The S197 GTs don't have MAPs. If the MAF sensor wires are contaminated by the filter oil, then use electric contact cleaner and hose down the MAF sensor wires to clean it.

Re-use the filters and clean the MAF sensor wires.
