Well i can start to see alot of dirt and dust building up in the filter lines of my JLT intake, and was wondering whats a good product to use to clean the intake? I see this cleaner from the JLT performance site.... http://jlttruecoldair.com/zencart/in...products_id=22

Thats what you need to do the job. I have the K&N kit that I have used on my C & L . For 15 bucks you can't go wrong. How many miles do you have on your car?

What's the recommended interval for cleaning the filter?
I remember cleaning a K&N filter for an older mustang, and my car performed bad afterwards like it wasnt getting enough air.

i would recommend getting the S&B kit but you can not buy it at autozone you need to order it from JLT or S&B direct but people say the K&N kit works and that you can get at autozone.
oh and LB i think the reason it was like that is you need to clean it twice then reoil and let it sit and dry for a while, they are stubborn and do not clean easy

I have already cleaned and re-oiled my JLT filter using a K&N recharging kit and it works fine. Just follow the directions for drying time and you'll be fine.
The K&N recharging system can be found at any autozone or comparable auto parts place.

JLT site says every 5-10k miles...but alot's gonna depend on the driving conditions around you and how hard you drive the car.
For instance, I live very close to an expressway that is under alot of construction...dirt and small particles fly around all the time. My filter would get very dirty if it werent for the fact that I hardly drive it very far (yes it's my daily driver but I live where I work). I also take it to the track at least once a month.
I cleaned the filter once at about 6k miles...I'm due for another cleaning now.
2 years = 12k miles....not bad...

Autozone sells the K&N recharge kits for $9.95 a piece. The cleaner and oil should all be the same whether it is JLT, Summit Racing, Airaid, S&B, etc... It's basically mineral oil last I checked.
