Ok I have had the car about a week now and I've put close to 500 miles on it. Car drives great but there are a couple things I would like to change...

First off, what is with the time zone delay between your foot and the throttle response? I work with Corvettes all the time and they have drive by wire as well and you can't tell, what happened with the Mustang? Its hard to even blip the throttle in time for upshifts. Do any of the tuners fix this problem? ( I'm used to LS1 and LS2 Edit so bare with me)

Sound? I've seen and downloaded a lot of clips online but I would still like to know who is making the most power, has the lightest muffler, and sounds the best? Seems from what I've read the Borla/Ford Racing ones seem to be doing the best. I always loved the Flowmaster sound on the Fox body cars but I'd like to keep it stainless and I haven't heard a new one with Flows on it.

Lastly...springs. Good bad ugly? I've always heard Eibachs sag over time and thats pretty much what I've seen with Eibachs on my Camaro as well. How are the H&R springs? Any others out there?

Anyway I think thats all the questions I have so far.

Car runs great just need to make it a little faster.

Believe it or not, to get rid of a lot of that throttle lag, the device or mod to buy, Throttle Body Spacer!

Throttle Body Spacer helps some but a retune from SCT or Predator are what really gets rid of the lag. I absolutely could not stand my lag it is more noticeable in the auto trannys.

From what I've read Borlas are running about pretty good. There is a graph t was posted here on one of the exhast threads that did a detailed comparision on the different exhaust manufacturers.

The throttle lag is caused by Ford's own programming, and a tune will fix this. People using the Throttle Body Spacer or the 62-mm Throttle Body have noticed a big difference too.

Exhaust, aft-axle - Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords did a good write-up testing several aft-axle systems in their September 2005 issue.

They tested Bassani, Ford/Borla, Flowmaster, Magnaflow and JBA.

I have included an attachment of an Excel Worksheet that someone on this forum had made of the information listed in that article.

I went with the Flowmasters since they had the peak increase of torque and horsepower in the lower RPM's and they never lost power compared to the stock exhaust at any RPM, which can not be said of all the others tested.

This attachment should help out a lot.

As for springs I would chose K&W they are adjustable for hieght so you can set up the car for cruising dragging or road racin K&W

I'm not the sharpest bulb on the tree or the brightest nife in the drawer. But, if I understand this excel spreadsheet, changing mufflers really increases your low end torque and hp numbers. Why, and how is this. Please respond.

Well on most cars you can increase power output with changing the stock exhaust. Some cars today you will not see that much, like the new C6 and C6 Z06 Corvettes there is little to no gains at all at the muffler end of it but huge gains can be made with headers. Hence why I was asking about what people have seen as far as mufflers on these cars.

Exhaust work is a science in itself anyway. Between timing events, pulses in the exhaust, velocity, heat, flow, merging of pipes...it all adds up.

I'll probably look into doing a tune on the car when we get back from Laguna at the end of the month. I've always heard good things about Alternative Auto up in Michigan. A friend of mine had his Cobra done there, but being in Texas now I'm not that close. Mail order tunes seem to work, or is that all they have for the new cars now?

Looks like everyone seems to have good luck with the C&L intakes, is there much heat soak with the alum. piping? Is it a thin wall, or thick cast piece?

I saw a picture on here last night of a car with the H&R springs on it...wow I thought it looked like just the right drop for a driver. If I wanted to go nuts I guess I could fab up a set of coil overs and be done with it, but I don't feel like putting the time into it right now.

Thanks for the replies...keep'm comin
