Throttle cut off
Throttle cut off
Just curious if anyone has their autos or manuals tuned so that the throttle cuts off when you actually let off the gas?...Instead of still winding up for a second or 2.
This is by design. Most modern cars have the throttle "hang" for a brief period after releasing the throttle. This is to help the catalytic converter burn any remaining fuel that is there after suddenly releasing the throttle.
An aftermarket tune will reduce it some but I'm not sure if you can completely eliminate it. Perhaps others may have some more detailed information.

This is mentioned in Doug's signature.
our manual tunes that actually allow the throttle to close when you let off.
Interesting... I can't say i have noticed this on mine....it has been custome tuned though (not sure if that has something to do with it). I'll have to check now. I know when i was getting it tuned there is a tunable parameter that has to do with how fast the engine returns to idle, but that sounds like it may be different than what you guys are talking about......
