I've made the offer to go there, if some agreement can be accomplished.
The man said if it works as he says you buy it. If not he will take it off so go over there with some green just in case he is correct. If he is indeed the guy making them I would like to see his machine shop. Should be he will give you some green if it does not. Having said that and owning one I would call him on this one.

I will gladly make the drive, i have it mapquested and all, says one hour from downtown LA. by chance would anyone want to accompany me and make an afternoon of it?

Is Granatelli open on MLK day? I think that would be the best alternative to insane LA traffic for a little event like this.

what are the rules on whether ill have to buy it or not? if it gets 2hp, that is not living up to the promise and i wont want to keep it/pay. if it gets 6hp/10tq, i think that would be the min of living up fully to the promise and i will gladly pay.

on a side note, i have a jlt intake, so the fact that the TB allows more air to flow is aided by it being able to flow that air in the intake. i await the results and mr. granatelli's response.

My address is 1000 Yarnell Place in Oxnard CA 93033. If anyone wants to come to my shop, I will install the part on their car and do a dyno before and after - all testing is FREE if the part makes the power then you pay $369.00 for the part. If it makes no power, I will eat my words. If you increase the volume of air the t-bodies can move and see no increase then that only means the intake is goofed up or MAF is out of whack. There is no question that a larger T-body will move more air. If it moves more air the pressure differential across the manifold must change. This should elicit an increase or decrease in power. BUT IT CAN'T BE THE SAME.

Magnusson just tested a blower kit and the t-body changed the pressure differential between the t-body and blower inlet by 3.3†hg. This in turn was good for an increase in 23hp and 41cfm. When I get the dyno sheets for the 5.0 car I will get back to you all. Granatelli ALWAYS has a Performance Guarantee
This is getting interesting.

A manufacturer prepared to do this knowing fully well that if his product doesn't live up to expectations it'll spread over the boards like wildfire.

I'd like to be there but 2900 miles is a long way to go to see this.

I emailed granatelli about taking him up on his offer sometime this week. i will provide a detailed writeup of my experience if/when the challenge goes down.

I proposed that the bare minimum for him to win the challenge is to achieve 5rwhp/5rwtq improvement with a simple bolt on. I feel the JLT intake should clear any and all reservations about whether the air is able to get to the TB!

...awaiting updates

I can assure you the TB is being made for them by another company.I can only speak from personal experience that my central coast TB made 11hp on the dyno with my blower over the stock TB...But, this is with a blown application also

This was JR Granatelli's response to my email and offer to come in and test on behalf of all of you:

"Well 2 different guys came by the shop today and both tested. 1 '05 and 1 '06. The '05 made 9hp and 18ft/lbs and the '06 made 11hp and 21ft/lbs. Niether mentioned TheMustangSource and both paid $499.00 each. This included the install and they paid $75.00 each for the dyno on top of that.

Needless to say we know what kind of power they make...I am am happy to extent the offer. 5hp and 5ft/lbs is not a problem. Anyone that makes less is doing something wrong.
"

He is going out of town, so I will schedule an appointment in about a week or so. I will give you all, and maybe a couple other forums a detailed, unbiased response to the gains achieved with the TB.

Again...just like I said to Mark from LFP on another board, I wish the vendors and manufacturers would start a thread with the tuners that are posting dyno sheets showing no gains. So far the only people I have seen that truly have positive feedback from these things are the people making them, the people selling them, and the people associated with those people.
Yeah, weird that the average unafilliated tuners and users aren't seeing the huge gains...

Like I said, I saw a gain... 1 hp.

Very interested in seeing stkdidy's dyno results. A real live TMS unbiased opinion.

And Wild Stray, once Geoff gives the , your TB will probably sell pretty quick.
