Hey folks. Ever since my ProCharger install on my 05 GT, I've had trouble with my car going into failsafe mode anytime I accelerate from a 60mph roll on the highway. Finally, last night on my way to my parents' house, I threw a code. It's P2106, meaning the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System is stuck open, so as a preventative measure, the car forces you to drive slower, thinking you're going to accelerate uncontrolably.

Does anyone know a remedy for this? Might something be unpluged or not hooked up right? Are there any TSB's about it (I think I remember someone mentioning one) and is there anything I can do myself to eliminate this very annoying problem.

Thanks,

Kris Horton

I had the same problem and the dealer replaced the throttle position sensor. I was getting these codes

P1000 - OBD systems readiness test not complete
P2106 - Throttle actuator control system - forced limited power
P2135 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A/B Voltage Correlation

No problems ever since. Read about it here:

My car was throwing the same code under the same circumstances and I found it was the tune not taking into account the lower axle ratio. Yes, it's very frustrating because until it was up on the highway, the car ran perfectly.

How long has it been since you were tuned by Racer's Edge? Have you made any wheel/tire and/or gear changes since the tuning? There are settings in the Throttle tables that have to be adjusted by the programmer to ensure they are correct. The handheld can make some adjustments but it only makes them for the speedo settings and not the throttle tables and if you make a drastic enough change then it will go into fail safe more.

thanks,Doug.

So if you were to get a tune for a CAI, and later down the road you decide to change gears, from say 3.55's to 4.10's, you would need to retune? I thought that the Xcal 2 and the Predators would let you do this from the handheld.

Hey Kris,

Different issue, but, does your fuel computer still work correctly with the blower and SCT tune?

Also, when you get on it and let off, does it feel like the car wants to keep going a bit?

Thanks,
Brad

That is correct. The first thing a tuner will request from you is a list of
your performance mods.

I got the same 2106 code and a 2111 code when I installed my new throttle body. Come to find out, I didn't tighten the throttle spring tight enough so it didn't spring back into the idle position. Once I tighten it up, away went the codes...

Now I just need to get a better tune, because she's not running the best because of the wider openning.
