My dumb exhaust guy tack welded every connection from my cats back on my exhaust pipes...instead of just using the stock clamps. I am looking to replace part of the exhaust soon....but am clue less as to what to do.

I am really a n00b when it comes to welding....how do I "break" the tack welds? use a grinder? I haven't gotten under the car yet to see what exactly he did, but he explained that he just did a small tac weld at ever connection point.

I really don't want to take it back to him....cause he was kind of an hiney. but I will if there is no way for me to break the welds myself.

thanks guys

Yeah, just use a grinder to remove it. Just be carefull not to remove too much and thin the wall of the pipe. Most likely it won't take much, and you may be able to break them before you even grind them completely (by wiggling the pipe). I don't understand why some places do that, just seems like extra work to me.
