So.... I was wondering what the real difference is between synthetic and regualar oil for engines. I currently have always used regular oil. I know synthetic is more expensive, but I'm not really clear on what makes it different from regular engine oil. People just tell me, "I think it's better for your engine" Which leaves me nowhere better than before I asked the question. So can someone please illuminate me on the advantages/disadvantages to each? It seems to me like synthetic oil is just a marketing gimmick where regular oil will work just fine. I tried searching for this on the forums, but came up empty on the differences between the two.

This topic has been discussed in great detail before.

Do a search on"oil" or "synthetic" and you'll have enough information to last you an entire evening and then some.

The factory oil is semi-synthetic. I think this topic is discussed more than zaino vs nxt...
