Supercharger pricing.
I was talking to a guy with a twin screw supercharger in his 4.6 v8 silverado truck that he claims he had purchased new and installed for around $4500. Is that kind of price possible with the Saleens/Roush/FRPP twin screws? All the prices on superchargers for Mustangs that I have seen are up around $5500 just for the kit!

I paid about $ 5,000.00 for a saleen kit installed it my self took about 11hr. If your car has more than a 2000 miles on it order a set of intake gaskets before you start? Also to save time you may want to order the gages to. They had my flash back in 36 hours.

I think any good twin screw SC with intercooler and truely a turn key kit is going to be well over 6k. Depending on your preference there are about 5 or so well established providers. Not sure what the profit margins are but there may be some non OEM installers who will turn key the installation for the cost of the kit. But be careful who you select if you do it that way ... you often get what you pay for.

He has quite a following of devoted clients. I think Whipple has a bigger intercooler ($700 to $900 more) and way I am leaning to once I figure out how to get it into the garage w/o the wife noticing. Anyone have any ideas?

The only way to purchase a Kennebell over the counter is through Kennebell. You can go to an authorized shop and purchase it for a package price along with installation.
That being said the Saleen package as you buy it doesn't include a maf or injectors or anything. you must send in your pcm to Saleen for programming which in my opinion is crap. This is because they run lean at high rpm and are as slow as molasses.
I did a lot of research and found that the people who are running some of the quickest Saleens and lightnings were purchasing upgrade kits from JDM Engineering. I met the guys from JDM a little over a year ago and was impressed with how the cars coming out of their shop were running.
I purchased their Stage II upgrade kit and I can say that the car is running flawlessly at 10psi. At the time when I purchased my kit in August Jim Jr. told me that there were over 400 cars already running their upgrade kit without a single engine failiure.
The most important thing is to do your research ahead of time to know what kind of issues you may come across to see if it is right for you.
There are some people who don't mind tinkering with the car all the time while there are others who would get frustrated with the smallest inconvenience.
best of luck

That's pretty good! I'm in L.A., but for that price, it's hella worth the drive! Now I gotta save some pennies! Oh, is that 5K plus tax?
thanks!

Who gave you this price? Adam? And this is for the 2.6? 5K for the blower and install does not sound right. Whether you are paying cash or not.
Reason I am debating this, is Adam installed and tuned my Kenne Bell, and it sure wasn't 5K total! I got an incredible price on mine, but he wouldn't be able to feed his kids if he charged 5K.

According to my service rep in Earnhartd Ford in Chandler AZ, any of the superchargers, even if they themselves install it, void the warranty. That somewhat concerns me, of course that would be more of a down-the-road issue, my car is in perfect running condition.

No offense, but I find this hard to believe.
