Supercharger Install done! Pics...

Add another S197 GT to the forced induction club...

My '07 GT automatic coupe finally gets a blower via a Vortech V-2 S-trim. It's running the Vortech-supplied tune for now, but I'll be looking for a custom tune to coordinate this blower with the 4.10 gears and big stall converter.

Pardon how dirty my car is in the pictures. Haven't had any time off work since the install was finished yesterday...

Thanks, guys. Lovin' the power, although it's deceptively fast as the centrifugal builds power as rpm's rise. I'm more accustomed to the instant boost of a roots style blower (i.e. '03 Cobra's & Lightnings), but I used to own a turbo car so it's a familiar sensation that I just have to relearn.

The car definitely feels much faster. It launches without drama (other than the 4.10's and stall converter flashing that I'm already used to). Then it rips through the gears so fast I'm just leaving it in drive, whereas I used to manually shift the automatic.

My stall converter was flashing around 4,300 rpm's when naturally aspirated, but is now flashing somewhere around 4,800 rpm's (it's hard to tell the difference between flash and wheelspin at this point!).

Dry pavement traction is fairly decent, but I'm probably going to start driving on drag radials (I get about 5-6K miles on BFG's). We had a little rain yesterday, and it was tricky without traction control. Any flash of the stall converter drives up boost and instant tire spin. At 60 mph on a wet freeway yesterday, I gave it just a little throttle and it started spinning the tires. Around town in the rain, I could barely touch the gas without slipping the tires. I have some learning to do to figure out when to expect the power to come on and find the limits, and I'm going to switch traction control back on the tune for rainy day driving. But, I'll live for any chance to drive on a nice, dry day!

All in all, I'm lovin' it and wondering why I did not do this years ago!!!
