Supercharger for the Bullitt

I stopped by to talk with my mechanic and he was in the process of installing a Kenne Bell supercharger an 08 Corvette. I have to say... seeing that made my wheels start to turn. I asked what a supercharger costs for my 08 Bullitt. He told me about $6K. I like the twin screw design but wonder if the strut tower brace on the Bullitt will interfere. I would like to maintain as close to stock appearance as possible so a twin screw design may not be in my best in interest. I would like to keep the stock cold air intake too. Any thoughts or preferences on supercharger manufacturers or designs?

Saleen supercharger. You can keep the stock Bullitt intake, and it doesn't really look like there's even a supercharger on there. Might have to use aftermarket motor mounts to drop the engine down alittle, but others have made strut braces work with this s/c.

You're most likely going to need a custom tune for the s/c though, not Saleen's standard tune, and I doubt they have made one up for the Bullitt intake. Bamachips, Brenspeed, or Tillman should be able to hook you up though.

Hey there,

Interesting question. We installed a Magnuson on one of our exhibition Mustangs. CAI is in the factory location. Our car has one of the Steeda strut tower braces on it. Not 100% sure how that compares dimensionally with the Bullitt STB. Car put down 429 RWHP and 402 RWTQ on our dyno.

Will be interesting to see what others thoughts on this are.

Hope I was of some help

Thanks

The Magnuson has a bit of an angle to the TB though, doesn't it? Might making hooking up the stock Bullitt air tube a bit of a challenge. Might work though. I'd like to see pics, if you have any.

The Saleen superchager looks nice. You're right. You can hardly even see it. $5,699.99 for 400 hp and 420 lb. of torque. The supercharger operates with less than 5 lbs. of boost for less heat and stress. Looks like the application for 07 and 08 Mustangs has some special requirements according to Saleen's website. There is a disclaimer to call.
