To supercharge or not to Supercharge
Hey gang,
I was wondering if any of you could suggest what a safe HP increase would be with stock internals on a 05 Mustang GT.
I am about to purchase a Vortech HO SC, or the standard Vortech SC. I really like the idea of 462 HP with the HO system, but was wondering is it would be safe taking a stock 300 HP engine to that level. It seems that Saleen and Roush are staying around the 410 to 420 HP area and that is what most dealers are putting in their cars prior to sale.
Am I asking for trouble by pushing too much boost to get to 462 HP?

No, you will be fine..I know of many that are running this setup and is is awesome..I too will be upgrading to the H.O system shortly..If you want PM me with what exactly you are looking for and I will see if I can help you out with the best price on the kit.My buddy's shop is a major dealer for Vortech and he will always give me and forum members the best deal..Find your best price and then let me know!...I bet I can beat it!
read the october MM&FF page 50 article titled "A Bad Rap", Richard Holdner explains the misinterpritation of how little hp a stock motor can handle, you will have no problems as long as it is well tuned.
Thanks, Guys...
Installed price of $4600.00 (Drive out) with the complete HO kit and tune.
He is an authorized Roush and Saleen dealer and would install pretty much any SC I wanted, but recommended the Vortech over the others.
I put $1,000 down on the SC yesterday to keep it there. So, I am pretty much committed to purchase from him.
Thanks again for the feedback and I really appreciate the offer to better the price of the SC. But, I believe a deal is a deal and don't think it would be any better of me to purchase the SC somehwere else (And ask him to install it) than it would be for him to change the price at the last minute.
PS...Gonna get a California Dream Hood painted and installed at the same time next week. Pictures will be forthcoming
