Sub 4 second 0-60mph and 7:35 Nurburgring Lap Time

i know i think the z06 is a great car
but like tom said it wouldnt be a mustang would it
but is the 5.4L v8 from a gt500 stable enough to handle 700rwhp and will it also be reliable
also many people seem to have a supercharger setup to get higher horsepower, how come not many do a twin turbo setup on the gt500?
no jed theres no bet going on i just really like the looks of the mustang, but would like a get a better handling car
and thanks for explaining about unibodies
max when you say 100k is that in dollars if so in the UK thats how much it costs to actually buy a z06
so to get a similarly perfoming car as the z06 for the same price is not bad
just to reiterate this has nothing to do with GT4 lol
i'm only comapring the gt-r to the mustang because weight and power wise they are quite similar.
i would also say that the gt-r's lap time seems pretty believable because no one would really expect a 480bhp 1700kg car to do the 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds, condisidering that nissan only quoted 3.5:

even the carrera GT does the 0-60mph in 3.5s even though it is faster on the ring (600bhp+, 1380kg, £300,000+)
btw im not a nissan fanboy or anything i just think performance and price wise its a great car.

Let’s put it this way. By the time you mod a Mustang to match a Z06/GTR., it’s cheaper to buy the Z06/GTR in the first place. For example, GM put a lot of time and energy testing and testing the Z06 alongside the C6R. What you get is a car that is not only reliable on a race track, but also comes with a factory warranty.
As for the GTR, I am also of the opinion that the GTR Ring’ video is BS. No one has confirmed the times besides Nissan. Independent tests by a European magazine have been slower by a significant amount.

ok i get it
i thought that most of the modifications could be done for less than $120,000
(is this still not possible)
because i wanted to get a pre owned v8 vantage (around £60,000 each) but i've always had a soft spot for a mustang
because to actually buy a stock GT500 in the UK it would cost over $80,000
i also understand that the lap time of the gt-r is probably bogus and even most of the reviews from asian reviewers seem to be like a nissan commercial
i still wouldnt mind if the mustang got a sub 8 minute lap
but can anyone tell me if the car will be reliable even with a supercharger kit putting out 700whp and has anyone got a mustang that powerful on these forums?
ps.what ring time did european reviewers get?

max what engine are you talking about?
i was talking about the one in the gt500 the gt500 comes with 500bhp stock so i would think it would be easier to get 700bhp at the wheels
what i wanted to know was if a 700bhp gt500 engine would be reliable
