Strut Tower Braces: Should I get a single or double bar?

I'm looking at getting a strut tower brace (among other things) and can't decide between a single or double bar. Any thoughts?

I agree. I think the double bar looks the best. I'd would get the FFRP brace if it would fit on my car. The CDC shaker messes that up.

From my understanding the strutbars don't really do much. If your going to get one though I'd say the double looks best.

70Mach- Do you have any pics of your car?

If you ever decide to get the engine cover the double bar won't work. I have the Granatelli single bar and the price is very reasonable.

No wonder you have a shaker.
Single is all you need. Double was what I wanted. Strong and light.
IMO a brace is needed if you do a lot of hard corners.

I've got the double from GMS. It is advertised to clear the plenum. It will but a lot of bending and reshaping is required. I do not recommend the GMS........its a piece of crap

I ordered another one from these guys:
http://blueovalindustries.bluekeyinc...p?pid=99012288

Its garanteed to clear the plenum.

I don't have a plenum cover.
My GMS fits perfectly and looks great and is not a piece of crap.
It was shipped in sub-standard packaging and is not made out of the best grade of stainless steel.
I actually chose it because it does sit lower in the engine bay.

I have the GMS double bar without a plenum. Looks great and was cheap. I know it's not very functional in a daily driver, so I didn't want to spend much.

Don't forget!

The G-track brace that connects the struts at the bottom is helpful as well. Steeda and BMR make these, I think BMR's is calles tha A frame brace or something. Erik

I bought both the double bar strut tower brace and pleneum cover from Blue Oval Industries (e-bay price). They fit perfectly and look cool. I have a vert so I think the brace helps more than it would on the coupe.

i read on Steeda something very interesting:

Notes: The Steeda strut tower brace for GT Mustangs will not fit on 2007 GT Mustangs equipped with Ford's new Appearance Package, due to the included Engine Cover. The Steeda strut tower brace designed for the V6 Mustang will work for 2007 GT Mustangs with the GT Appearance Package.

i think this goes for the MWAG cover also, wondering if all V6 braces will work

if you don't like chrome, Blueoval has the double bar in black powder coat for 20 bucks less. it seems like a steal at $69

I kinda like the single bar better, else i'd be all over it.

+1 on the G-track bar but I noticed that rust is starting to form on the heads of the Steeda supplied hardware (black allen headed bolts).

A double strut tower bar just adds extra weight. Strange makes a single bar in aluminim that is super light and does the job.

The one in my cars picture is the GMS.

I took it off today and installed the Blue Oval. Just like everyone else has said, it just falls right on. Man I sure was happy about that.
I odered the chrome double Blue Oval STB, but I gotta tell ya it aint chromed.........the only thing I was unhappy about. It looks like polished steel.

The Blue Oval is way more beefier than the GMS, the tubing diameter is about 3/4" to 7/8", there aint nothin gonna bend or flex that thing. Clears the plenum by atleast 3/8" to 1/2".
