Don't need any hardware IIRC. You install it with nuts already on the strut towers. Most say you won't feel any difference, but for $30 shipped its not bad. Like to put a double bar on mine if I could find a decent and cheap one.

The reason I installed mine was back when I had a 70 Mach 1. I notice that the bottom of the shock towers were getting fractured where they met the frame. Possibly caused from hard acceleration from the past owners. So when I bought my 06 I felt that this was a natural mod to help prevent that torque factor in the engine bay. I think it does help the car's durability on the track. I only go out once or twice a year but I'd like to do it more often. That said there must be some logic behind Ford for installing them on the GT-500's and the 2010's. For $20 bones it sure can't hurt. As far as just looks well the sky's the limit where you can go with these things but basically they all do the same thing.

We don't have one. Car is launched violently off a t-brake. Our car will be raced often and expecting way better times for the 1/4 with latest build.....still not getting one.

Any idea if this will fit on a GT with the plenum cover and a standard hood?

No answer yet to my question, so I might just go ahead and buy one and give it a try. Hopefully it fits.

Wow, what a steal! As said above, if it had no function, it wouldn't be on the GT500 and the 2010.

This is more for handling than 1/4 mile, so forensicsteve, it makes sense you won't get one 'cause you are just stepping on the gas and going on a straight line, there's more focus on keeping the rear under control than the front. For others that are looking to push around the corners, there's clear benefits in having a strut brace.

You get what you pay for Why do you think it`s so cheap ?

I haven`t even seen this one ! If you going to do it get the FRPP one.

the FRPP GT brace will not clear the manifold cover, the FRPP V6 brace is the same brace that's used
on the Bullitt, that's the brace that I have, clears cover, looks good, and the car does seem a little tighter when I throw it in a curve.

does not clear cover or hood, I had one, I had to shim the back bolts with washer to tilt the bar forward and down enough to clear the hood, it just barely clear the cover when the car was setting still, when ever you got on it the torque of the engine would cause the cover to rub the bar, heres a picture of the cover before I touched it up, I had already changed braces at the time of this picture.

Figures. Mine arrived yesterday. My cover got a little worn from my FRPP GT brace, so I was considering removing it anyways. But if I read your post right, it doesn't fit properly under the GT hood either?
