I was disappointed that they didn't even fire it up, "we still need to do some R&D so it will be a few weeks". Shoulda done some research before they started.

I tape it and watched it alittle while ago.

1. They put the Pro 5.0 shifter lever on the wrong side and didn't grease the bushings so they will have issues with that.
2. Sportlines with a 2" drop is pretty aggressive
3. I would have chosen a different cold air kit
4. I wonder why they didn't have a tuner set up for the car?

I was thinking the same thing, well, except for the shifter part (I don't have one).

I wondered my self why they went with BBK components. There are clearly better pieces on the market they could have went with. Maybe they are trying to do a budget buildup? Well, probably not, the stroker kit couldn't have been cheap, and I'm sure the 19" tires for those wheels were fairly expensive as well.

I think they said it'll be 2 more weeks before they get some final numbers.

and whats the deal with all the BBk items? Is it someones car they are doing this to or sponser type deal?

Also why not before and after dyno runs for each part. The throttle body is going to F*** them in the long run. They should have gottem the gt500/v10 TB for cheaper.

Anyone live near there set and can drive there and kick them where the sun don't shine.

SImple. BBK paid them more than other companies to use their parts.

That show is a bad infomercial run by redneck Bert and Ernie.

Yeah that show is terrible now. Those guys don't have aloyt of experience and work for whoever pays the bills (ie BBK) who paid them the cash to get their name out there.

LOL I get a kick out of how everyone here is automaticlly a professional mechanic and think they know exactly how and what parts were supposed to be used...

LOL, I get a kick of how people come in to threads and post nothing but negative comments to get a rise out of people. I've come across plenty of threads that I don't agree with, but instead of making an *** out of myself, I simply hit the big "<--" at the top of the browser in the toolbar rather than hitting the "submit reply" button. Try it sometime! If I was going to reply to a thread in which I didn't agree with the contents, I probably would use a little tact and maybe ask questions as to why people felt the way they did and then give my opinion, rather than flame.

I don't think I'm a professional mechanic, where the hell did you get that from? We, sorry, I, was stating my opinion that most BBK items are not of the best quality and fitment and was wondering why they went with them. As far as exactly "how the parts are supposed to be used", I'm fairly certian everyone in here wasn't questioning "how" they were being used, but rather why.

I forgot that show is driven by marketing.

well the younger guy used to R&D for BBK. He knows the guys that make those parts, so he probabluy trust them. I buy and use parts i trust, not because XXX brand gave it 2 more peak hp..... for 50 rpm.

If that is what you think stick with it, you are entitled to your opinion. ...Keep believing what you see on the TV, it will get ya real far.

FYI, however, note that I have worked as a professional mechanic doing normal and auto restoration work for a decade doing full restos from the ground up and apprenticed under a person that has been doing it since the sixties.

Then there are the mechanical and electrical undergrad and electrical engineering grad degrees hanging above my desk which is my current field. Not to mention a few patents, etc, etc.

Not trying to brag, just stating some background info since you felt it necissary to ask.

So I think I am well within my rights to bash the crap out of two backyard mechanics peddling parts on TV.

I am not always right, don't claim to be, and am always open to learning new things and info. But those shows are not the guys to learn it from.

Agreed, I should have just ignored him, I know he's just trying to get a rise out of us (worked on me).

First of all, I don't even know who you are, nor did I mean to hurt your feelings in any way. I just find it funny that whenever people come on a public forum whether it has to do with mechanics or racing they are automatically know everything there is to know about it.

And I have 500something posts so Im pretty sure I didn't just come to TMS to "Flame" and "Get a Rise out of People"...Not sure where you pulled that information from?

My previous post applies to you as well...And I only caught the tail end of the show so I probably shouldn't have posted in here at all - I just read everyones comments about HP TV shoulda done this and that and thought it was funny SHEESH! If I knew everyone would get so defensive off of one little comment I woulda followed that other guy's advice and used the Back Button . Oh well Everyone's a critic, or in your case a professional mechanic!

Sorry man, I must have took it out of context. Throw that jester smilie in there next time!

For the record, I didn't think you came to TMS as a whole just to flame, I noticed you had quite a few posts (much more than me) so I didn't think you were a troll or anything, I just wasn't sure about the seemingly negative comment which appeared to be directed at us in this perticular thread.

No hard feelings.

No harm, no foul. Next time though a smilie to show joking or sarcasm always helps.

Has anyone seen part III? They are going to tune and dyno the stroker engine this month.
