Stock H pipe removal?

Just curious if there are any tricks that any of you have for removing the stock h pipe? What tools did you use? I've searched but only came up with 96-04 results. I have a slp catted x that I will be putting in its place. My car is at my local Ford dealership getting the engine replaced due to a broken rocker arm so the h pipe bolts shouldn't be seized or rusted. Thanks in advance.

What year is your car? Why not have them just put it in while the engine is it out while they are putting it back in since they probably pulled the manifolds, then it's already half way out

Because it should be done tomorrow and the X pipe is 40 miles away and I won't be able to put it in till the weekend. It's a 07 GT.

Gotcha. I would just be sure to spray them with a good rust penetrent and they should come off fine if not use a little heat to help at least on the catback side I would hope they come off the manifold side easy after having the engine out. Enjoy your mid pipe when you get it in!

The hardest part of the job is getting to the o2 sensor connection, if you can't get it, remove the battery & battery tray to gain access

One thing I ran into was getting it separated from the h pipe back. There are tabs with hooks that hold the h pipe and the other pipe together. Just bend them out of the way

Mostly to make it louder/sound better with a small hp gain

Ok so I tried swapping out the h pipe and 3 nuts came out no problem and the 4th one stripped out on me after 2 hours of fighting with it. I used wobble extensions, deep well sockets, impacts, pb blaster, etc and nothing. The nut made it till 2 threads were left then stopped. It was the inside nut on the drivers side. I will take it to a shop and have them remove it then I will do the rest unless they will swap it out for less than $50. Lol
