Stock clutch w/a centrifugal charger?

I'm looking at the forced air performance rotrex kit.

In my laundry list of parts for the install, I have a billet flywheel and a Ram HDX or Powergrip clutch. However I'd rather run the stock clutch for a while until I burn it up, and then when I take the trans/clutch out I'd go through the transmission, something I'm not desperate to do next spring.

My only concern is getting the car together, opening it up for the first time on the dyno and getting clutch slip in 4th! I'll be running a fresh set of radials, 255/45-18 Proxes 4's.

AFAIK the Rotrex kit adds over 100 ft-lb at around 4 grand and above. The car should make 430-460 rwhp and <430 rwtq. (?)

Any experiences? Vortech users?

I know I've smelled my clutch once or twice slipping it during launches, it seemed really greasy when it was new but really seems to grab hard now. About 24k miles on the car.

I have a Magnacharger , not a centri , and at 8 psi it puts out 430 RWHP and 400 RWTQ. I put in on when the car had 36K miles on it and it's been on over 2 years now and I've had no problem with the stock clutch at all ...

You shouldn't need a new clutch at that power level.

I don't have a centry but the Techco twin screw. I've been running the stock clutch with Nitto 555's since March 09. I had no problem with the clutch yet and I'm making 465rwhp and 450rwtq.

I would've kept my stock clutch in as well if it wasn't for the fact that my motor was being yanked out.. so in went a Centerforce DF.

The stock clutches have really impressed me with the amount of abuse they can take. I don't think your really going to need to upgrade until you go past 500whp

Kenne Bell has tested the stock clutch slightly past 500rwhp.

A cetri style supercharger isn't going to stress the clutch as much as a twin screw or positive displacement blower. So, unless you're especially hard on your clutch, your stocker should be fine at that power level.

I had some slipping on my stocker after abuse on a 125 shot...it slipped on hard 1-2 shifts ...so when i added my vortech i went with a CF DF...that clutch was fine until my slave started acting up and it wasnt holding it on high rpm shifting...so now i have a P-51 setup and i love it and it has yet to **** me off.

Stocker worked fine for me with a Vortech/Paxton combo. When I went twinscrew, is when it started to cave a little.
