Stock 05+ muffler, anyone swap out the tips?

I did a search but did not really come up with much for results, but here is my question:

My exhaust setup is an OR/H pipe with stock mufflers which I really like the sound, but hate the 05 muffler exhaust tips. Anyone here swap em out and if so what brand did you use?

Thanks

When I first got my car I had a set of Magnaflow 4 inch tips welded on. I thought it looked good and if I had left it alone I could have saved myself about $900 in buying different mufflers.

Great thanks for the info, I am wanting a 4" tip like was on the flows that I had. Problem I have had searching on jeggs, summit, etc is finding a tip with the 3' inlet and 4' outlet that was not 12 inches long.

the 4 inch tip looks nice on the s197.

I'm getting the 4" slash cut. Then cutting back the stock tips and welding those on. And my stock muffs are painted black.

different tips can be just welded on (after you cut off the old ones). I actually liked the stock tips, so I had them cut off and welded on to my flowmasters.

Here I have something better. Had these on for for 2 years with stock mufflers and a hi-flow catted x-pipe, sounds and looks good to me. SS tips and clamps 5 minute install per side.

Running the same setup as you. I had previously the Flows with the 4" tips, and went back to the stock muffler and hated the tips, lol. So I got some 4" magnaflow rolled tips, look just like the flowmasters. Got them at cost from local club member that has a muffler shop and he welded them on. He did have to expand the tips to slide over the outlets on the stockers, no big deal when he has an expander.

I went to a Muffler shop yesterday. They offered Magnaflow tips just like the GTA style double wall for $150.00 installed. They were polished stainless and the right length.

I saw my stock tips from afar and loved the angled cuts. I had gotten used to the Violator tips and quite frankly, I love my stock axle-backs.

I understand about the stock axle backs.I have a pair of stock axle backs that sound off very well. They sound as good as pair of GTA's.They have the rolled tips. I've often thought about just changing the tips and keeping them but I figure just sell them and help some V-6 guy that wants to make a dual exhaust car.
