Steering Linkage removal
Steering Linkage removal
I have searched and have found no easy way of doing this. Does anybody know an easy way of doing this? Pictures would help alot! I must be doing something wrong. I am trying to remove my drivers side exhaust manifold to have it fixed with no luck.
Thanks Ryan

Are you just trying to remove the shaft that goes from the steering wheel down to the rack and pinion system? In other words, the shaft that needs to be removed in order to do some header installations?
It's pretty simple, there's two bolts to undo. Basically there are three parts to the steering shaft. One (1) that is attached to the steering wheel, (2) one that is attached to the rack and pinion system, and (3) one that links the other two in the middle. All you need to do is remove the middle piece. When you do, remember the orientation of the middle shaft relative to the other two shafts (mark it down if you have to), because that will determine if you're steering wheel is properly aligned when you're done. Also, if piece (1) retracts into the firewall, you can push it back out by grabbing it from underneath the steering column inside the cabin. Hopefully this will help you understand what I'm trying to say:

The piece you're trying to remove is the one floating on the left side of the picture with the 25Nm bolt attached to the top of it.
