Steel 1 piece d/s

I decided to replace my aluminum piece, no brands mentioned, after some vibration issues I was having. I have a good friend that builds them so I took my old shaft over there for him to check out. He rebuilt it for me and I'll pick it up in the morning, but he threw an offer to me seeing how expensive these things are. I can get some made for around the $400 mark plus shipping, would anyone be interested? These would be 100% brand new pieces. Pics to follow in the morning

It will be in the 25-28 lb range. I will weigh it when I get it in the morning. Rotational mass is an inertia thing, you don't want to give up to much on such a heavy car or launching will be a PITA. Take it from the guy with the aluminum fly and d/s!

This is more of a budget and safety mod for some guys. This guy builds all our drive shafts, from 8 second drag cars to big ol mud racers, it's nice stuff!

I agree, I was just curious however. If you could weight both an post back that would be cool. I know there are alot of threads out there where people have 1 piece alum. driveshaft with vibration issues so this mayyy be a fair alternative.

A light driveshaft won't negatively affect at launch. It's not moving. The engine provides the torque to get it moving.
A lightened flywheel however will slightly, for drag. More negative on small engines that make less torque.

Anyway, i'm interested too lol.

Would this work with an adapter plate or would i have to change the pinion flange? If its an adapter then I'd be interested.
