Question Steeda's New CAI Tube and Tunes

I'm about ready (finally) to get a CAI. I'm drawn to the Steeda filter/heat shield set up, so I'm leaning towards it. So b/t Brenspeed and BamaChips, I was leaning toward Brenspeed since they show it on their site, not sure if Doug has tunes specific to the Steeda setup?? My bigger question, has anyone (Brent or Doug) put together a kit w/ the new intake tube Steeda has come out with? And if so, will the tune need to be updated/changed to maximize this new tube.

Thanks!

Tunes for the Steeda CAI are also available from Doug..No additional tuning is required for the new inlet elbow, due to the inlet tube being mounted after the MAF housing..

I like the look of the Steeda system. Does it take advantage of the mounting holes in the strut tower? If so, that would be great as it would be much more secure than the C&L I have now.

My tune was on the lean side to began with,Also I'am going with Steeda's new charge motion plates as well. Once I get a retune I will let you know the results. I heard that the elbo and charge motion plates are worth around 14hp......

I've only run one tank of gas through the inlet elbow and it appears my mileage went down a bit - maybe one mpg. I don't know if it was because I was "testing" the system or if it just uses more gas. I'll fill up in the next few days and see if the decrease remains the same.

Wow. After reading thru, what 50+ pages of different posts regarding the GMS CAI/MAF, I'm back to wondering how a Steeda set up will compare to the C&L or JLT CAIs. Specificly, I'm hoping Doug or Brent will comment on what they may have found while tuning the Steeda CAI WITH the new elbow.

Does anyone offer a package deal for the Steeda CAI, including: Steeda's CAI filter/heat shield, new tube, SCT or Diablo tuner, and tunes specific to this set up??

Also, any affect on the tune if I later add the GMS TB?? Are there other TB assys out there (not just spacers)??

Thanks y'all!

Hey guy,

Yes, we have a tune for the Steeda CAI both in 80mm and the newer 90mm setup. The intake tube doesn't require any additional tuning as I've contacted Steeda and SCT about this because I haven't tuned to one myself on the dyno. I do have the adjustments for it.

No, there's no difference with the tune for a TB or TB spacer.

Thanks, Doug.

As always, thanks for the reply Doug!
Does BamaChips have a combo kit available for the Steeda CAI/new tube/SCT2/and tunes? If so, price? Sorry, I didn't see anything about it on your site.

No, I only offer JLT, C&L and Demolet air intake combos.

Thanks, Doug.
